Glossary
Lower high
A swing high that sits below the previous swing high, showing that rallies are running out of strength sooner.
A lower high forms when a rally stops below the peak of the rally before it. It suggests sellers became active at a lower price than last time.
On Chartora’s charts the comparison uses confirmed swing highs, which are daily closes higher than the four closes on each side.
Lower highs together with lower lows describe a downtrend. A lower high on its own, after a series of higher highs, is often the first change traders notice when an uptrend starts to weaken.
