Swing low
A local trough on a chart. Chartora defines it as a daily close lower than the four closes on each side of it.
A swing low marks a point where a decline turned higher. Chartora uses a fixed rule: a daily close that is lower than each of the four closes before it and the four closes after it.
As with swing highs, confirmation takes four more sessions, so the latest four days of a chart cannot yet contain a confirmed swing low.
Swing lows are the raw material for support levels and for reading trend structure through higher lows and lower lows.
